After 2010 and 2013, Pandinavia is responsible for the merchandising of the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival (ESAF) for the third time. The major event, which only takes place every three years, will be held from August 26 to 28, 2022 in Pratteln in the canton of Basel.
The tradition of the Swiss Wrestling and Alpine Festival was established in this form in Biel in 1895. In the same year, the Swiss Wrestling Federation ESV was founded; it is still responsible for organizing the event today and now has over 50,000 members.
ESAF Pratteln in the Basel region
The “Eidgenössische” is a truly major event that is unparalleled in Switzerland and attracts huge media and spectator interest. The last time it was held in Zug in 2019, no fewer than 420,000 visitors attended the three-day event. The budget at the time was CHF 35 million.
Pitch won
A pitch was held for the contract to create and sell merchandising products for the ESAF Pratteln in Baselbiet, from which Pandinavia emerged as the winner. “We certainly presented a very good concept,” explains Fabian Hugelshofer, project manager at Pandinavia, “but our experience and the fact that we are the leading player in this sector in Switzerland certainly also played a major role.”
The merchandising range
The Pandinavia creative team has developed an exciting collection over the past few months. In addition to classics, trendy fan articles have also found a place in the range. The products are available in a web store operated by Pandinavia. Pandinavia is also responsible for the entire distribution of the articles on behalf of the ESAF. More than just fan merchandise
“It’s not just about giveaways and souvenirs that visitors can purchase at the wrestling festival,” explains Fabian Hugelshofer, “but we also dress all the helpers. We also develop products for the numerous partners and sponsors of ESAF Pratteln in the Basel region.
